The constituency of Hamburg I was number 3 of the Hamburg constituencies in the 1949 Bundestag election and then had the nationwide constituency number 15. The area of ​​the constituency remained unchanged for the 1949-1961 Bundestag elections. Before the federal election in 1965, the constituency was dissolved and the area was divided among the newly formed constituencies of Altona , Eimsbüttel and Hamburg-Mitte .
