Eisemroth Castle

The castle Eisemroth is an Outbound hilltop castle at Eisemroth , in the municipality of Siegbach in Lahn-Dill-Kreis in Hesse .

history

Around 1307 to 1308, Landgrave Heinrich I of Hesse had a castle built against the Counts of Nassau as part of the Dernbach feud near Eisemroth . Lehnshalter and Burgmannen were the lords of Bicken and the lords of Dernbach . As early as 1327/28 the castle was destroyed again by the Nassauers who fought against the landgrave and the local nobility for sovereignty. Nothing has survived from the castle, which is said to have been on a hill east of the old village center. It is believed that the castle stood where the church is today.
