The castle Wiesenbach is the ruins of a hilltop castle in the village Wiesenbach in Zweibrücken-Land in the district Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate . The castle is located on the ridge, a low 320 m above sea level. NN Bergkegel, the "Schlosskopf" northeast of Wiesbach.
history
The castle was probably built between 1125 and 1250 as the seat of an imperial ministerial , first mentioned in 1297 and in 1589 came into the possession of the Counts of Pfalz-Zweibrücken . In 1921, the remains of the residential tower and a neck ditch were uncovered during excavation work .
