Burgdorf bei Osterlinde is a locality in the municipality of Burgdorf , which belongs to the combined municipality of Baddeckestedt in the Wolfenbüttel district in Lower Saxony. Before the closure of the Braunschweig – Derneburg railway, including the train station, in 1984, the name Burgdorf train station was also common and is still often found in street atlases and maps today. However, the place- name sign uses the name Burgdorf bei Osterlinde (see photo on the right). The name Burgdorf-Kreidewerk is also used on the Internet . This has since been shut down.
The location was never an independent municipality or an official part of the municipality of Burgdorf.

Burgdorf bei Osterlinde is located north of the Lichtenberge, the northwest part of the Salzgitter ridge .
Economy and Infrastructure
In Burgdorf bei Osterlinde there are around 15 residential buildings and several commercial operations (car recycling, agricultural trade, tilers). The sugar factory, built in 1865, was shut down a few decades ago.
Transport links
Burgdorf bei Osterlinde is conveniently located at a road crossing. On the one hand, the state road 619 connects Lesse in the north with Osterlinde in the south, on the other hand two more roads lead to Hohenassel in the west and to Burgdorf to the northwest.
The station, which opened in 1885, was shut down in 1984 and served as a connection to the rail network of the German Federal Railroad for the entire municipality of Burgdorf.
Today the nearest train stations are in Salzgitter- Lebenstedt on the Braunschweig – Salzgitter-Lebenstedt railway line and in Baddeckestedt on the Hildesheim – Goslar railway line .
