course
Its source is open and accessible at the Schnelsen-Nord exit of the A7 . Then it continues north and then west, crosses under the Wunderbrunnen street and then north again, crosses a retention basin at IKEA Schnelsen and then makes a swerve to the south, finally back to the west. It crosses under the Bönningstedter, the Gretelstieg, the Hänselstieg and the Königskinderweg. Then it runs north again, crosses under the Goldmariekenweg, the Hans-Adolf-Weg and continues through a retention basin past an island. It takes up the side ditch coming from the west. It crosses under the Grothwisch, runs west again and then north over the state border between Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein ( Bönningstedt ). It briefly follows a railway line and then flows into the Mühlenau .
Side ditch
The Burgwedelau side ditch is almost 1 km long. It rises on Königskinderweg, runs completely through a park and flows into the Burgwedelau in the west of a retention basin .
