Burkhard Schwuchow

Burkhard Schwuchow (born January 18, 1966 in Paderborn ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been the full-time mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Büren since 2009 .

Life

Burkhard Schwuchow went to primary school in Wewelsburg and secondary school in Niederntudorf / Wewelsburg in Ahden and Niederntudorf . He then completed his secondary school leaving certificate at a vocational school for technology in Büren and completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Schubert & Sohn construction and furniture joinery in Wewelsburg . He made his high school diploma in Büren at a technical college for structural engineering. After completing his military service, he studied civil engineering , water management and transport at the Höxter University from 1987 to 1991 . He completed his studies with a Dipl. Ing. (FH) .

From 1991 to 1992 Burkhard Schwuchow worked in the planning office of the city of Paderborn, after which he was project and construction manager in various planning offices until 1996. From 1996 to 2001 he was a clerk in the building department of the Sauerland town of Marsberg and from 2001 until his election as mayor he was head of the building department of the municipality of Hövelhof .

Burkhard Schwuchow is married and has three children.

Political career and mayor's office

Burkhard Schwuchow was a member of the Bürener CDU city council. In the mayor elections on August 30, 2009, he was elected the new mayor of Büren with 66.47 percent of the valid votes as the successor to Wolfgang Runge (CDU), who no longer ran for reasons of age. In the 2014 mayoral election, he was re-elected on May 25, 2014 with 69.86 percent of the valid votes.

From 2004 to 2010 Burkhard Schwuchow was chairman of the Tambourcorps & Musikverein "Edelweiß" Wewelsburg. He was the chairman of various master craftsmen's examination committees of the Paderborn district trade guilds. In Towns and Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia Burkhard Schwuchow is the Committee for Urban Planning, Construction and Planning Deputy Paderborn Technical Assistant Martin Lürwer.
