Burkhart Rümelin

Burkhart Rümelin (born July 19, 1916 in Berlin ; † November 9, 2012 ) was a German engineer in the field of water management .

Life

Theodor Rümelin's son graduated from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich in 1935 . In 1939 he made his diploma in civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich and in 1942 the great state examination for the higher technical administration service. He was an officer of the artillery in World War II . Then he did an apprenticeship as a carpenter .

In 1950 he was accepted into the civil service, he had tasks in the hydraulic engineering in Bamberg, Nuremberg, Passau and Regensburg. From 1965 he took over the management of the water and shipping office in Frankfurt am Main . In 1969 he became ministerial director for water and shipping administration in the Federal Ministry of Transport in Bonn. From 1975 he was a full board member of Rhein-Main-Donau AG .

The Technical University of Munich gave Rümelin on 7 November 1979, the doctorate (PhD engineering honors sake) Dr.-Ing. E. h.
