The Burkholderiales form an order within the Betaproteobacteria . Based on 16s-rRNA analyzes, this order was phylogenetically summarized in terms of cell shape, metabolism and ecologically very different representatives . There are obligatory aerobic to facultative anaerobic , chemoorganotrophic and chemolithotrophic bacteria. This order also includes some bacteria pathogenic to humans, animals and plants , for example various species of the genera Burkholderia , Bordetella and Taylorella . Bacteria of the genus Oxalobacter require oxalic acid as a carbon source .
