Merritt Butrick

Merritt Butrick (born September 3, 1959 in Gainesville , Florida , † March 17, 1989 in New York City , NY ) was an American actor .

In the second and third installments of the Star Trek movie series, he played Dr. David Marcus, the son of Captain Kirk. He also played in the first season of the US television series Spaceship Enterprise - The Next Century in the episode The Plague, the drug-addicted Captain T'Jon from the planet Ornara.

Merritt Butrick died of complications from AIDS in 1989 at the age of 29 .
