The Bystraja Sosna ( Russian Бы́страя Сосна́ also Sosna (Сосна́)) is a right tributary of the Don in the Russian oblasts of Oryol and Lipetsk .

The Bystraja Sosna rises on the Central Russian Plate in the Oryol Oblast. It flows mainly in an easterly direction into the Lipetsk Oblast and finally reaches the upper reaches of the Don after 296 km. The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The Bystraja Sosna has a catchment area of 17,400 km². 37 km above the mouth, the mean discharge (MQ) is 74 m³ / s. The river is ice-covered for several months in winter. At the end of March / April it is usually free of ice again. The towns of Liwny and Jelez lie on the river .
