biography

Noger comes from Wil in the canton of St. Gallen , he learned to ski in Ebnat-Kappel at the age of three. He graduated from the sports high school in Davos and later began a correspondence course in economics . As a 15-year-old, Noger took part in FIS races and junior races from November 2007 , but achieved hardly any results over the years. After graduating from high school , he went his own way, with medically supervised fitness training and a private trainer. Then there was a significant increase in performance and he won an FIS race for the first time in January 2013. After the 2012/13 season he was accepted directly into the European Cup group by the Eastern Switzerland Regional Association.

At the end of January 2014, Noger contested his first European Cup race, winning his first points on February 15, 2014 with 17th place in the giant slalom in Borowets . After a long 2014/15 season, he temporarily dropped out of the European Cup group, but then found the connection again and after the 2015/16 season belonged to the B-squad of Swiss-Ski . At the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty , he won the bronze medal in the giant slalom. At the turn of the year 2017/18, Noger won three giant slaloms of the Far East Cup and finished second in the discipline ranking. He also made it into the top ten for the first time in the European Cup.

Relatively late, at the age of 26, Noger made his World Cup debut on December 16, 2018 , but was unable to qualify for the second round in the giant slalom in Alta Badia . One day later, he won a European Cup race for the first time, a giant slalom in Andalo - Paganella . He scored his first World Cup points on December 19, 2018 with 18th place in the giant slalom in Saalbach-Hinterglemm . On March 9, 2019, on his fifth World Cup appearance overall, he surprisingly finished fourth in Kranjska Gora . He even left Marcel Hirscher behind and qualified for the World Cup final in Soldeu . At the end of the season he became Swiss giant slalom champion.
