politics

Ursula Caberta y Diaz was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 1986 to 1992 . There she sat as a member of the SPD for her parliamentary group in the Legal Affairs Committee, the Health Committee and the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women. In September 2001 she resigned from the SPD.

In 2004 she joined the WASG. In the 2005 Bundestag elections, she was a candidate on Hamburg's state list, number two. However, she missed her entry into parliament . She left the WASG in February 2007 in protest against the rapprochement with the PDS .

She sees her most important political work in dealing with Scientology . She was also the head of the Scientology working group in the Hamburg Interior Authority from 1992 to 2010 , where she also had to deal with the Church of Scientology in court. Mass media like Der Spiegel or ZDF have used her as commentators on Scientology topics. She was also head of the Supreme State Youth Authority for the protection of minors with regard to new and ideological communities and psycho-groups , which has existed since 2001 and which is also part of the Hamburg Interior Authority. As part of her work as a sect expert, Ursula Caberta wrote a multi-page "note" in 2002 with an evaluation of the psycho group founded by Andreas Hortmann, the former so-called Institute for Spiritual Psychology ISP in Wiesbaden. On August 1, 2007, she called for the Scientology organization to be banned because it was operating against the state and apparently seeking direct influence through its presence in Berlin. In 2010 the Scientology working group was closed and Caberta became ministerial advisor for new religious, ideological communities and psychogroups. In 2013 she finished her job with the Hamburg administration.
