Cacimbinhas , officially Portuguese Município de Cacimbinhas , is a small town in the Brazilian state of Alagoas . It is 177 km inland from the capital Maceió . According to an estimate by the IBGE as of July 1, 2019, 10,858 inhabitants, who are called Cacimbenser (Portuguese cacimbenses ), lived on around 274 km² .
Around 1830 the place was initially just a storage area in the forest. On September 19, 1958, he received city rights as a Munizip . Cacimbinhas is located in the greater economic and geographic region of Região Nordeste , the biome is Agreste .
