Cadmium tungstate is an inorganic chemical compound of cadmium from the group of tungstates .
Extraction and presentation
Cadmium tungstate can be obtained by reacting cadmium oxide with tungsten trioxide or cadmium salt solutions (such as cadmium nitrate or cadmium (II) chloride ) with sodium tungstate .
properties
Cadmium tungstate is a white to yellow solid that is sparingly soluble in water. It has a monoclinic crystal structure with the space group P 2 / c (space group no. 13) .
use
Cadmium tungstate is used as a scintillator in particle physics . It is also used in fluorescent paints and X-ray screens .
