The Calore Irpino is a river in southwest Italy.
geography
The river has its source near the town of Montella in southern Italy . Montella is in the province of Avellino . In the further course it flows first in a northerly direction. It crosses the areas of the municipalities of Castelfranci , San Mango sul Calore , Taurasi , Paternopoli , Montemarano and Castelvetere sul Calore .
After 43 km the river arrives in the province of Benevento, now flows in an easterly direction past the village of Apice and crosses the provincial capital Benevento . Here the river joins the Sabato . Now the Calore Irpino continues northwards again to the municipality of Ponte , and then again changes its direction of flow to the east. After 92 km the river then reaches the Volturno .
