Cambundi-Catembo (also Cambundi Catembo and Kambundi-Katembo ) is a small town and a district in Angola .
history
Until 1975 the place had the Portuguese place name Nova Gaia , based on the Portuguese place Vila Nova de Gaia . After independence in 1975 it was given its current name.
administration
Cambundi-Catembo is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Malanje , with an area of 16,097 km². The district has about 59,000 inhabitants (2014 estimate). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
The district is made up of four municipalities (Comunas):
- Cambundi catembo
- Dumba Cabango
- Kitapa (also Quitapa)
- Tala Mungongo
