Cameron Bay (born October 22, 1984 in Orange County , California ) is an American porn actress . She made her HIV infection, which became known in 2013, known beyond the industry . Life

From 2007 to 2008, Cameron Bay was served a year and a half prison sentence in Arizona . HIV infection

In August 2013 it was announced that an HIV test by Cameron Bay had been positive. The discovery shocked the American porn industry and temporarily brought production to a standstill. With no health insurances , unions or other social security institutions being common in the porn industry , the sudden end of her porn career put Bay in a difficult position. On September 11th, XBIZ announced that a donation account had been set up for Cameron Bay to help meet the costs of her illness.

After her career ended, Cameron criticized the lack of awareness of HIV and AIDS in the American porn industry. She called for the use of condoms to be a real and possible alternative in the future , and criticized the monthly HIV test required in the industry as inadequate.

Effects of becoming aware of HIV infection

The discovery of Cameron Bay's HIV infection led to public health and safety investigations in one of the porn studios Bay was filming. The Cameron Bay case poses a significant problem for the American porn industry. A referendum in Los Angeles County led to the introduction of a condom mandatory in porno film productions which is fought by porn producers.
