Cameron Meredith (* 21st September 1992 in Westchester , Illinois ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He last played for the New England Patriots as a wide receiver . He was previously under contract with the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints .

college

Meredith attended Illinois State University and successfully played college football for their team, the Redbirds . He was initially called up as a backup quarterback , so he was then used for two seasons as a wide receiver , where he could run 1431 yards and achieve 14 touchdowns .

NFL

Chicago Bears

Meredith was not considered in the 2015 NFL Draft , but was subsequently signed as a free agent by the Chicago Bears . He made it into the team thanks to the performances he showed in preparation and played 11 games in his rookie season. He scored his first touchdowns in the 2016 season, and with 66 passes and 888 yards he was the team's most successful receiver. In the last preseason game of the 2017 preseason he suffered a serious knee injury, which meant that he was out for the entire season.

New Orleans Saints

In April 2018, Meredith signed a $ 9.6 million two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints . He played six games in the 2018 season, where he managed a touchdown with a total of nine pass catches , but had to be placed on the injured reserve list at the beginning of November .

On July 29, 2019, Meredith was released from the Saints.

New England Patriots

Only a few days later, he was signed by the New England Patriots , who recognized an urgent need for action following the injuries of Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas and the suspension of Josh Gordon .
