The Captrain Germany GmbH is the holding company of several railway companies and railway infrastructure companies that their logistical solutions in rail freight markets for industry, trade and agriculture center. In addition, the company maintains a (partly non-public) track infrastructure of 403 kilometers in length through its subsidiaries. In 2016, a turnover of 332 million euros was achieved, with 1,400 employees, 175 locomotives and 2,500 freight wagons moving 55 million tons of goods.

history

The company operated until January 10, 2010 under the name Veolia Cargo Deutschland GmbH as a subsidiary of Veolia Transport . Following the sale of Veolia Cargo's non-French activities to SNCF, the company has been part of SNCF Geodis , the transport and logistics division of the SNCF Group, since December 2009 .

With the acquisition of the Swedish company Railcare Tåg AB and the regional rail freight transport activities of Railcare Danmark A / S, Captrain Germany has had two wholly-owned subsidiaries in Scandinavia since August 15, 2013, which from now on operate as Captrain Sweden AB and Captrain Denmark ApS.

The capital of Captrain Deutschland GmbH is 100% owned by Transport Ferroviaire Holding , the holding company for freight railways of Transport et Logistique Partenaires (TLP), the holding company of the SNCF group for freight transport companies under private law ("Filiales") within SNCF Geodis, held.
