Bavarian CargoBahn GmbH

Bayerische CargoBahn GmbH (BCB) was founded on May 10, 2001 in Holzkirchen as a subsidiary of Connex Cargo Logistics GmbH . The first services in freight transport began on February 28, 2002. On January 1, 2005, a large part of the national freight transport services of the Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (WEG) were taken over. In August 2005, the company relocated to Neu-Ulm because it was more conveniently located. The license as a railway company for freight traffic had existed since November 16, 2001 and that for passenger traffic since March 14, 2003; both approvals are valid until December 1, 2016. In addition, the company had a network access permit for freight traffic in Switzerland, where it was also responsible for the Swiss partner Transalpin Eisenbahn AG of Captrain Deutschland GmbH. On August 19, 2015, BCB was merged with TWEBB with retroactive effect from January 1, 2015, with the Neu-Ulm location being retained.

Nine locomotives were permitted on the BCB: two diesel locomotives from the G 1000 BB series , one electric locomotive from the Alstom Prima EL3U / 4 series and six locomotives from the Siemens ES64F4 series .

TWE Bahnbetriebs GmbH

In 2003 the railway company (EVU) TWE Bahnbetriebs GmbH (TWEBB) was founded as a 100 percent subsidiary of Teutoburger Wald-Eisenbahn AG , which has only been active as a railway infrastructure company (EIU) since then. The main focus of the EVU was the nationwide rail freight transport for the steel industry. With the long-distance freight transport for ScandFibre Logistics AB, Solna, Sweden, which began in December 2010, the company also became active in the paper logistics segment. At the same time, long-distance freight trains from Captrain Germany were shunted in the TWE station in Gütersloh Nord. For a number of years, TWEBB also performed the shunting traffic in Gütersloh main station on behalf of the then DB Schenker Rail (now DB Cargo ).

After taking over the Hamburg location of CC-Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, TWEBB has been performing shunting and operating services in the Port of Hamburg for the Captrain Group since November 2012 via the newly established Hamburg branch. On August 19, 2015, TWEBB was merged with BCB retrospectively from January 1, 2015 and renamed Captrain Deutschland CargoWest GmbH.

TWEBB only used four-axle diesel locomotives from Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK) at various locations throughout Germany. TWE has rented 8 Bombardier TRAXX class 145-CL and 185-CL electric locomotives from Rail4Captrain for long-distance freight transport.

Captrain Germany CargoWest GmbH

The company was founded retrospectively as of January 1, 2015 with entry in the commercial register on August 19, 2015 by renaming TWE Bahnbetriebs GmbH, with which Bayerische CargoBahn GmbH was merged at the same time. The locations of the two former EVUs with their vehicles, employees and managers will be retained.
