Carl Anton wish
Carl Anton Wunsch (born April 17, 1790 in Heiligenstadt ; † July 7, 1853 there ) was a German physician .
Life
Carl Anton Wunsch grew up as the son of Anton Wunsch and his wife Margaretha, née Sacrificial Man, in Heiligenstadt in Eichsfeld . From 1801 he attended high school in Heiligenstadt and from 1809 he studied medicine in Göttingen , passed the medical-surgical exam in Kassel and served a year as a regimental doctor in the Kingdom of Westphalia . After the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig , he headed a Prussian hospital in Mühlhausen . After contracting typhoid of his own , he became a district surgeon in Heiligenstadt and from 1818 continued his medical studies in Berlin, which he completed in 1819 with a dissertation with the psychiatrist Johann Gottfried Langermann . He then returned to his work as a district surgeon in Heiligenstadt and published several specialist articles in the field of psychiatry.
On January 3, 1827, Carl Anton Wunsch married Freiin Florentina Magdalena von Kleist (* February 2, 1806 in Salzkotten , † July 5, 1867 in Heiligenstadt) in St. Stephen's Church in Beckum . Florentina was the daughter of Freiherr Friedrich Clemens August von Kleist (1786-1859) and his wife Maria Josepha, née Allard (1774-1851), who belonged to the Catholic branch of the von Kleist family. Florentina was a great-great-granddaughter of the Elector General of Cologne Ewald von Kleist (1667–1764) and his wife Maria Anna, born Freiin von Manteuffel .
The marriage of Carl Anton Wunsch and his wife Florentina resulted in at least two daughters. The daughter Berta Wunsch (1839-1897) later became the wife of the legal consultant Friedrich Fuldner in Heiligenstadt. Their son, the poet and lawyer Fritz Fuldner , was thus a grandson of Carl Anton Wunsch.
Literary aftermath
Fritz Fuldner recorded the fact that he got to know his maternal grandparents in a poem. According to the poem, Friedrich Clemens August von Kleist Rittmeister was in the service of the king and was accompanied by his daughter Florentina when she injured her foot in a riding accident and he had to leave her in the care of the district surgeon Carl Anton Wunsch, who eventually became her husband has been. An excerpt:
A Junker comes to the quiet town with his daughter at the evening light.
One traveled differently than one travels today:
The little baroness rode like Father Kleist,
she rode a white horse that was otherwise wisely
and proudly and confidently carried by its mistress.
Was it a crowd of children, was it a face
That disturbed its peace - I don't know -
At the market by the fountain, where
Neptune waved his trident with serious greetings , it rose to heaven,
It stumbled, fell, and under its white
horse, Baroness lay with a broken foot.
Hard case. The inn accepts them.
One sends to the doctor. He comes in a hurry,
another young doctor, pretty with frizzy hair
- his picture, which I have, shows him clearly - the
young lady whimpers. He separates her little shoe
from her foot and checks his medical skills:
“A bad break. The only
thing that helps here, rest. " " You rest, "rumbled Kleist," I wanted to grant her that
, but, sir, we're in a hurry, as a courier
I'm here today in King's service
and tomorrow I have to go on. Quickly, get advice. ”
The doctor smiles slightly:“ Yes, indeed, the
courier demands fast curing, but
even he mustn't lose his
patience . ” Kleist pauses and looks at the doctor punishingly:
“ Sir, no jokes if I may ask. "
But the doctor's eye now also flashes sharply at
the other:" I do what I can.
You don't like my advice ”- But
a look flies out of Leonorens eyes pleadingly ,
who says softly:“ How little men are good
at communicating when pride defeats reason. ”
