Carl Friedrich Irminger

Carl Friedrich Irminger (born November 8, 1813 in Aadorf , † March 27, 1863 in Zurich ; also Karl Friedrich Irminger , often just CF Irminger in signatures ) was a Swiss draftsman , lithographer and engraver .

life and work

Carl Friedrich Irminger created numerous portrait drawings in the form of miniatures , lithographed portraits , watercolors and caricatures of the Swiss military. His work was also published in the Zürcher Neujahrsblätter. But they were also known abroad and were used as a frontispiece . In the 1850s he worked with the painter and photographer Heinrich Schweikert (1830–1914) and ran the Irminger & Schweikert Photographische Anstalt studio with him in Zurich .
