Carl Hochstöger

Carl Hochstöger (born October 7, 1930 in Landeck , † September 3, 2003 in Landeck ) was an Austrian pharmacist and president of the Tyrolean Chamber of Pharmacists .

biography

Hochtöger completed his school days at the elementary school and the secondary school in Landeck, Matura 1949. He finished his studies in pharmacy on March 12, 1955 at the University of Innsbruck with a graduation as Mag. Pharm. During his studies he joined the Corps Gothia Innsbruck .

He spent his time as an aspirant in his father Karl Hochstöger's pharmacy in Landeck. He then went to Vienna and London . In 1970 he joined the limited partnership of his father's pharmacy as a limited partner. He finally took over the pharmacy in Landeck entirely from his father on March 24, 1971, whereby it was run in the third generation.

Hochstöger was married to Christiana Buchroithner, with whom he had two children. One of them was the later president of the Tyrolean Chamber of Pharmacists, Martin Hochstöger.

In 1986 he was elected as a delegate of the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists as well as the Austrian Pharmacists Association and the Pharmaceutical Salary Fund. In 1987 he was elected President of the Apotheker Club Tirol. In 1992 he became the first non-Innsbruck president of the Tyrolean Chamber of Pharmacists. In 1997 he was re-elected as President of the Chamber of Pharmacies.

In addition to his job, Hochstöger also devoted himself to politics. From 1976 to 1986 he was a municipality or city councilor of Landeck and in the National Council election in 1971 he ran for the FPÖ in the regional constituency of Tyrol (district election proposal) in 14th place. From 1971 to 1991, Hochstöger was also chairman of the tourism association and for decades chairman of various non-profit associations.

For his charitable work, Hochstöger received a number of awards, most recently the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria . The Carl Hochstöger Memorial Foundation also exists in his honor .
