Carl Joachim Hambro (born January 5, 1885 in Bergen , † December 15, 1964 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian conservative politician and journalist .

Hambro was a member of the Norwegian Parliament from 1919 to 1940 and 1945 to 1957 and served as President of Parliament from 1926 to 1940. He was also President of the Plenary Assembly of the League of Nations in 1939 and 1946.

Hambro was chairman of the conservative Høyre party from 1926 to 1934 and again from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee from 1940 to 1963 . He was also a member of the Norwegian Academy for Language and Literature and holder of the Order of Saint Olav (Grand Cross) and the Finnish Order of the White Rose .

He was the father of Edvard Hambro , President of the UN General Assembly in 1970/71.
