Francisco Castillo Nájera (born November 25, 1886 in Durango , † 1950 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican doctor , ambassador and foreign minister from 1945 to 1946 .

Life

Francisco Castillo Nájera studied medicine at UNAM . His son was the diplomat Francisco Castillo-Nájera Calvillo. From 1918 to 1919 he directed a clinic Juárez de Victoria de Durango. In 1920 he was director of the medical school of the Mexican army. From 1934 to 1935 he chaired the general assembly of the League of Nations .

On April 15, 1935, he signed the Roerich Pact for the Mexican government. From December 30, 1922 to February 13, 1925, he was the Mexican government's envoy to the government of China. From February 20, 1935 to September 21, 1945 he was the Mexican government's ambassador to the governments of the United States of America . Francisco Castillo Nájera spoke at the United Nations General Assembly in London in 1946. He was accredited to the Mexican Embassy in Brussels , Belgium . From October 1, 1945 to November 30, 1946, he headed the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores as Foreign Minister .
