Carl Rümpler (company)
Carl Rümpler in Hanover was a retail bookshop operated in the 19th century with an affiliated newspaper publisher and second-hand bookshop .

The company was founded in Hanover on Midsummer 's Day 1848, at that time in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover shortly after the beginning of the March Revolution . The publisher of the same name, Carl Rümpler , initially ran a bookstore, but quickly became active as a publisher.
On May 1, 1858, Carl Rümpler parted with his bookstore, which was initially run as Rümpler'sche assortment bookstore , but soon continued under the name of the buyer Theodor Schulze in connection with an art trade and an antiquarian bookshop.
Instead, Rümpler intensified his publishing activities. According to the address book of the royal capital and residence city of Hanover for 1866 , the Kommerzienrat and publishing bookseller (Ernst) Karl Rümpler had his seat at Windmühlenstraße 7 at the time .
Publications (selection)
In the first 27 years of his company alone, Carl Rümpler published almost 600 works according to his publisher's catalog, which soon made him one of the “first line of sponsors of German science ”. The larger publishing works included, for example
- the magazine for Hanoverian law ;
- the journal of the Architects and Engineers Association in Hanover ;
- 1853–1862: “Bonplandia”, journal for all botany ;
- the linguistic and literary works
- von Hoffmann von Fallersleben
- and Oskar Schade ;
- Julius Theodor Grunert's Forstliche Blätter (magazine for forestry and hunting);
- "The world famous works" of the forest director Heinrich Christian Burckhardt
as well as numerous scientific publications by August Nathanael Böhner , Karl Ruß and others.
In 1881 the Rümplersche Verlag was dissolved, according to the address book of the city of Hanover from 1885 the company went out in the previous year 1884.
