Carl Tobias Jetzke (born May 23, 1713 in Berlin ; † March 12, 1785 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian . Jetzke was the royal Prussian consistorial advisor and pastor at the market church of Our Dear Women in Halle.

Life

Jetzke attended the Gray Monastery high school in Berlin . In 1742 he became a deacon at the town church in Ziesar . In 1764 he received his appointment as inspector and pastor of the town church Ziesar, an office which he held until 1766.

On December 22nd, 1766, Jetzke was elected as the successor to Friedrich Eberhard Rambach as senior pastor at the Marktkirche Our Dear Women and appointed superintendent in Halle. At the beginning of April he received his confirmation and on May 3, 1767 he gave his inaugural sermon in the market church. At the same time he was given the office of inspector of churches and schools in the Saalkreis . In 1769 he became royal Prussian consistorial councilor in the Duchy of Magdeburg .

Carl Tobias Jetzke died on March 12, 1785, at the age of 71 in Halle. He was buried on March 14, 1785 in the school and garrison church in Halle. His daughter Therese Christiane Catharine Luise, from her marriage to Christina Charlotta (1721–1785), née Hertzog, married the anatomist Philipp Friedrich Theodor Meckel .
