Carl Braun , since 1913 Ritter von Braun (* 1852 in Oettingen in Bavaria ; † November 9, 1928 in Munich ) was a German judge, most recently President of the Augsburg Higher Regional Court.

Life

Braun graduated from high school in Augsburg in April 1870 and then took part in the German-French War as a volunteer Junker in the Royal Bavarian 4th Field Artillery Regiment "König" of the Bavarian Army . From autumn 1871 he studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . He became a member of the Corps Suevia Munich and the Corps Rhenania Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he worked as a public prosecutor, district judge and district judge in Nuremberg, Munich, Landshut and Augsburg. In 1907 he was appointed President of the Munich I Regional Court . For his achievements Braun was in 1913 by King Ludwig III. awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown . With the award the elevation to the personal nobility was connected. From then on, Braun was allowed to call himself Ritter von Braun after being entered in the nobility register . 1914-1919 he was President of the Augsburg Higher Regional Court .
