Baron Carl Ludwig Ernst von Eschwege (born May 22, 1798 in Allendorf an der Werra ; † September 15, 1857 in Reichensachsen ) was a German chamberlain and politician.

Carl von Eschwege was the son of Lieutenant Colonel Johann Friedrich Ludwig von Eschwege from Hessen-Kassel and his wife Charlotte Antoinette Friederike Wilhelmine von Bardeleben . His younger brother was the Elector General Lieutenant and MP Ferdinand von Eschwege .

He married on 29 January 1817 the church of the former monastery Haina Henriette Auguste Charlotte Wilhelmine born of Boyneburgk (born September 13 1789 Rosenthal , † 5 January 1846 in Reichensachsen), daughter of Hessian majors and top chief of the High Hospitals to Haina , Johann Jost Friedrich von Boyneburgk. Life

Eschwege studied in Marburg from April 8, 1806 . In 1809 he was a participant in the Dörnberg revolt against French rule in the Napoleonic kingdom of Westphalia . Eschwege was one of the five knightly participants in the state parliament of 1815/16 in Hessen-Kassel. From 1830 to 1848 and from 1852 to 1857 he was a member of the Kurhessische estates assembly . From 1830 to 1836 he was elected to the constituency of the knighthood of the Werrastrom, and from 1836 to 1848 he was a member of the state parliament as one of the head of the Kaufungen and Wetter monasteries. From 1852 to 1857 he was again a member of the first chamber as headmaster. In 1850 he was a member of the state house of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
