Carla Calò

Carla Calò (born September 21, 1926 in Palermo , † December 29, 2019 in Forano ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Calò began in 1948 in Il berretto a sonagli under the direction of Luigi Squarzina with the theater work, which she mixed with film roles from the following year. She was seen in leading roles in the first few years of her career; so she played alongside Totò in Totò le Moko . In the course of time, however, she specialized in substantial supporting roles and thus came to a large number of interesting films of all genres, from adventure and mythological films to westerns and "sexy comedies". Occasionally Calò, often given the pseudonym Carrol Brown , also worked for television. In the theater she mainly played in dialect pieces and revues.

Later in her career, Calò also turned to acting classes and staging plays with the theater group "Il Vaso di Pandora".

She died on December 29, 2019 in Forano at the age of 93.
