Zorro's Homecoming and Vengeance is a 1962 adventure film that uses the masked avenger as a hero. Luigi Capuano directed Giorgio Ardisson in the title role of the film, which was released in German cinemas on July 26, 1963.

When Riccardo di Villaverde returns from Mexico to his homeland Lusitania, he finds out that the evil Don Carlos has usurped power after the death of his brother and that the duchy, which the deceased's widow and daughter Bianca deserves, is running with an iron hand . In addition, he would like to marry the daughter and has therefore kidnapped her in order to persuade her mother to finally give up all her rights. However, a mysterious masked man fights and fights against the villain and his men, above all his henchman Miguel, experiences and seeks, supported by his loyal helper Paquito, some confrontations and after numerous adventures he is able to save the kidnapped daughter of the Duchess, restore the orderly situation force the upstart into distant exile. The identity of Zorro is finally revealed as that of the returned Riccardo. He marries Bianca.

criticism

The adventure piece, described as “undemanding”, is described in Haiko's film dictionary as “very entertaining, with a sympathetic hero, colorful and far removed from the old novel from the 1920s. Good for Sunday afternoons ”.

Remarks

The film was released on July 7, 1962 under the same title as the photo novel "Roman Film Color". The gross profit in Italy was 400 million lire . The DVD release was given the short title Zorro's Revenge .
