occupation

I magnifici Brutos del West is a 1964 western farce with the quartet of the then popular comedian group "I Brutos" in the lead roles. The film was not shown in German.

action

The four funny fellow I Brutos, namely Artie, Lee, Johnny and Pep, go to Fresno, where they have inherited a funeral home. When they get there, they mistake the ongoing shooting between bandits and the citizens as a celebration on the occasion of their arrival; they also fire their weapons, hitting all the bad guys. After starting their business, they are supposed to transport a coffin with a deceased person to a remote place. In fact, there is a treasure in the coffin. During their journey, the four are attacked and captured by Indians. The chief then wants to marry off the heroes with his four ugly daughters, which can only be prevented with great effort. Further experiences lead to the fact that the Brutos can thwart the smuggling of the treasure and return to the city as heroes; however, the fate of getting married catches up with her.

criticism

Christian Keßler about the film: What the main actors “do goes beyond imagination: It makes grimaces that can only be made using special effects in modern Hollywood films. (...) Marino Girolami has packed the apocalytic humor of the five crazy four into a fast-paced and thoroughly entertaining western story, the success of which depends on whether one likes to make friends with the humor of the team. "

Remarks

Ettore Bruno is also part of the troupe, but does not play any of the “hero roles” in the film and is listed separately. The film titles are otherwise interspersed with English pseudonyms, which can only be partially assigned.
