Carlos Antonio Ascues Ávila (born June 19, 1992 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a Peruvian football player who also has Venezuelan citizenship. The defensive midfielder , who can also be used in central defense , is under contract with Alianza Lima and is a Peruvian international .
Career
societies
Ascues played in the youth team of Alianza Lima until 2010 . On May 15, 2011 he made his debut in a 2-0 win at Sport Huancayo in the Peruvian Primera División . He scored his first goal on May 19, 2012 in the home game against Sport Boys to make it 2-1 in the 90th minute. For the 2012/13 season Ascues moved to the second team from Benfica Lisbon in the second Portuguese division . He came in the season on 22 missions, but left the club at the end of the season again and joined the Greek first division club Panetolikos . This awarded him in January 2014 to Universidad San Martín from Lima . After returning in February 2015, he played the remainder of the season at FBC Melgar .
For the 2014/15 season , Ascues moved to VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2018. On April 3, 2016, he came on for Robin Knoche in the 82nd minute in the 3-0 away defeat by Bayer 04 Leverkusen and made his Bundesliga debut .
After Ascues had only played once in the DFB Cup in the first half of the 2016/17 season , he was awarded to his former club FBC Melgar in January 2017 until the end of the season. Subsequently, Ascues returned to Alianza Lima. Mid-August 2018 he was to end at Orlando City in the Major League Soccer awarded and then firmly committed. In January 2020, Ascues returned to his youth club Alianza Lima.

Ascues played three times for the Peruvian U20 national team in 2011 .
