Sergio Carlos Strandberg (born April 14, 1996 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish football player .
society
Strandberg, son of a Swedish father and a Portuguese mother with Mozambican roots, grew up in the Gothenburg district of Backa , where he played soccer and handball in his childhood . He went to the Backa IF , which was after a merger to Hisingsbacka FC . There he made his adult debut at the age of 15.
In 2012, Strandberg moved to BK Häcken , where he first appeared in the youth team. The following year he moved up on the one hand to the squad for the Allsvenskan, where he signed a professional contract dated until 2017, and on the other hand played his way into the Swedish national youth team. In the top Swedish league he was mainly a supplementary player, in his first season he scored three goals in eleven games alongside Moestafa El Kabir , Oscar Lewicki , René Makondele and Dominic Chatto . In September 2013 he also took part in the U-17 World Cup, where the team won the bronze medal.
After Strandberg had continued to succeed frequently, but mainly as a substitute in the Allsvenskan, his talent nonetheless aroused foreign interest. Negotiations with Borussia Dortmund were well advanced in the summer of 2014 before a commitment by the multiple German champions failed due to the mandatory medical check. At the beginning of 2015 he finally moved to Russia, where he signed a five-year contract with CSKA Moscow . He played five Champions League games for Moscow, but was then awarded to Ural Yekaterinburg and AIK Solna . At the beginning of 2017 he moved to Belgium for Club Bruges , played on loan at KVC Westerlo . In August 2017 he moved back to Sweden to Malmö FF . In early 2019 it was first awarded to Örebro SK and in the summer to Al-Hazem in Saudi Arabia .
National team
From 2013 to 2018 Strandberg played for various Swedish national teams and played a total of 27 games in which he scored eighteen times.
