Carlsgrün is a district of the Bavarian state spa Bad Steben in the district of Hof in the administrative region of Upper Franconia in northeastern Bavaria .

Carlsgrün is located in the middle of the Franconian Forest Nature Park northwest of the core town of Bad Steben on the Franconian Forest High Road (see list of holiday and themed roads # Roads that run completely within Germany ). Not far to the north is the state border with Thuringia . The district road HO 29 runs on the southern edge of the village .
