Gerlas is a district of the Bad Steben market in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in northeast Bavaria .
geography
The scattered settlement is located in the middle of the Franconian Forest Nature Park southwest of the core town of Bad Steben on State Road 2198 and the Bavarian Porcelain Road . To the south is the community-free forest area Gerlaser Forst .
history
Gerlas was part of the former municipality of Bobengrün before it was incorporated into Bad Steben as part of the municipal reform in 1978.

The former forester's house (Unterer Gerlas 5) is listed for Gerlas in the list of architectural monuments in Bad Steben . The hipped roof building with clad half-timbered upper storey comes from the 17th / 18th century. Century.
