Carmen Rothwell

Carmen Rothwell (born February 18, 1992 ) is an American jazz musician ( double bass ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Rothwell grew up in Seattle, where she worked in various bands and projects during her time at college (School of Music at the University of Washington ). a. in Tyrant Lizard (with Raymond Larsen, trumpet, and Gregg Belisle-Chi, guitar) and The Sky is a Suitcase . She also had the opportunity to play with Seattle-based and guest musicians such as Cuong Vu , Bill Frisell , Billy Hart , Ted Poor , Wayne Horvitz and Wally Shoup , with whom she made her first recordings.

After moving to New York City in 2016, she played in the trio Scree , appeared in the solo project Parenthetical Girl , and with David Murray , Ben Monder , Bill McHenry , Dave Douglas , Jacob Sacks , Devin Gray and Kenny Wollesen . She is currently part of Andrew D'Angelo's trio .
