Carsten Gerlitz

Carsten Gerlitz (* 1966 in Berlin ) is a German musician, arranger , publisher , composer and choir director .

Life

Carsten Gerlitz studied music at the HdK Berlin and computer science at the FU. He received his musical training on the piano and in arrangement and composition from Clemens Kühn , Hartmut Fladt and Heinrich Riethmüller, among others .

He works as a musician, arranger, publisher, composer and author. He is best known for his numerous piano and choir arrangements. In his own recording studio, he oversees word and music productions. He was musical director on several occasions at SAT.1, ZDF and RTL. He also worked as musical director at the Berliner Schlosspark Theater, the Berliner Tribüne, the Stuttgart Comedy in the Marquardt, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Maag Halle Zurich, Theater Bonn, St.Pauli Theater in Hamburg and arranged and directed the Palazzo shows in Vienna, Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart. In cooperation with Stage Entertainment, he was involved in musical projects several times. He arranged and composed the music for the stage hit "Heße Zeiten". For the second part "High Time" and the third part "Heavenly Times" he also wrote the lyrics. In 2011 he got a composition commission for the Lower Saxony Music Days. In 2010 Gerlitz worked on the SAT1 production “ Rock instead of Rente! - The best comes at the end ”as a choir director. In 2013 he set the adventures of “Conni” (three volumes, book incl. CD) to music for Carlsen Verlag. Various choral publications have appeared in the company's own publishing house, Greenlandmusic. Carsten Gerlitz arranged for Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester , Reinhard Mey , Ute Lemper , Pepe Lienhard , Voxxclub , Ernie and Bert von der Sesamstraße and regularly for the NDR , the MDR symphony orchestra and the MDR children's choir . He is also regularly active as a lecturer in choral conducting.

With his choir " The Happy Disharmonists ", which he has directed since 1985 (since it was founded), Carsten Gerlitz received the Berlin Culture Prize Bonzo (1995) and has released several CDs.

His publication Pop Ballads received the “Best Edition” German music edition award from the German Association of Music Publishers .
