The Cascade Pass (also known as Skagit Pass ) is a 1643 m high pass that crosses the northern cascade range at Marblemount, Washington . The pass is in the North Cascades National Park .

It provides the fastest connection between the Cascade River and Lake Chelan and is only crossed by hiking trails. It can be reached from the west, from the Cascade River Road, via an approx. 5.6 km long hiking trail. The path continues east to Stehekin (Washington) .

The highest point of the path is at the tree line and allows a wide all-round view. It is also a meeting and starting point for mountaineers. To the north, a gentle ridge leads to the summit of Sahale Mountain , as well as the meadows of the Boston Basin and the peaks beyond. To the south, another ridge leads to Mixup Peak , Magic Mountain and Cache Col , making the Cascade Pass the entry point into the Ptarmigan Traverse , which leads to Dome Peak .

The pass was originally an Indian trade route between the coast and inland. New York reporter Frank Wilkeson was one of the first white men to explore and map the Cascade Pass . The explorer Alexander Ross crossed the Cascade Range using the Cascade Pass as early as 1814. However, his documents are too imprecise to pinpoint the route.
