Caspar Augustin Geiger
Caspar Augustin Geiger (born August 27, 1847 in Lauingen (Danube) , † November 12, 1924 in Munich ) was a German genre , history and still life painter .
Life
Geiger studied painting from December 30, 1866 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Wilhelm von Diez, among others . After a long stay in Venice , he lived in Munich until 1890. Among other things, four dome paintings for the glass palace were created here . He then moved to Kaiserslautern , where he worked as a teacher for decorative painting at the Royal District Building Trade School.
His younger brother Nikolaus is also a well-known painter and sculptor .
