history
Already settled in Roman times, Cavenago d'Adda belonged to the Bishop of Lodi (Xth century) and later became a fief of the family of Fissiraga (1297–1482), the Bocconi of Mozzanica and finally the Cavenaghi Clerici. The village of Persia belonged to the municipality.
In the Napoleonic era (1809), Cavenago became part of the Robecco municipality. The place became independent again in 1816.
In 1863, Cavenago took on the official name Cavenago d'Adda to differentiate itself from Cavenago di Brianza .
In 1869, the municipality of Cavenago d'Adda was merged with the municipalities of Caviaga and Soltarico.
In 1937 the district of Persia - a place that had existed on the right bank of the Adda until a devastating flood - was assigned to the municipality of Casaletto Ceredano .
After the Second World War, AGIP discovered important reserves of natural gas in Caviaga.
Districts
