Valera Fratta is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1,716 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Province of Lodi in the region of Lombardy .

The municipality covers an area of 8.01 km² . The place is at an altitude of 78 meters above sea level. The district ( frazione ) is Carrobio, and there are also the residential areas Cascina Canova and Fratta. The neighboring municipalities are Bascapè (PV), Caselle Lurani , Marudo , Marzano (PV), Torre d'Arese (PV), Torrevecchia Pia (PV), Villanterio (PV). The municipality borders the province of Pavia .
Varzi had a station on the disused Voghera – Varzi railway .
