Cay Lorenz von Brockdorff (District Administrator)

Cay Lorenz Graf von Brockdorff (born November 8, 1813 in Kletkamp , † May 25, 1870 in Segeberg ) was a German administrative lawyer and the first district administrator of the Segeberg district .

Cay Lorenz von Brockdorff was the son of the Danish court hunter Ludwig Reichsgraf von Brockdorff and his wife Ida from the house of Bülow-Westensee . From 1833 he studied law at the University of Göttingen and became a member of the Corps Lunaburgia (1833), Hannovera (1834) and Vandalia (1834). After passing the official examination (1840), he became an auscultator at the Holstein Higher Court in Glückstadt the following year . In 1848 he was magistrate in Neumünster , 1,852 police sergeant in Itzehoe , 1860 again steward in the office Cismar to succeed Heinrich von Döring , from 1866 in Segeberg, where he in 1868 with the Prussian administrative reorganization District was. Brockdorff died in office, his successor was Ernst Freiherr von Gayl (1832-1895) from 1870 to 1877 , who had previously been district administrator of the Brandenburg district of Teltow since 1863 .

He had been married to Jeanette Burt (1824–1886) since 1843, making him brother-in-law of Helmuth Karl Bernhard von Moltke , and had six children with her.
