Cedric Pick (born January 11, 1987 in Remscheid ) is a German sports journalist and presenter .

Life

Cedric Pick grew up in Remscheid and graduated from the Alfred Müller Armack Vocational College in Cologne. He did an apprenticeship as an office clerk in a model agency for 1.5 years , which he did not finish because his employer went bankrupt. Then he worked in structural sales for an insurance company from the beginning of 2010 to the end of 2012 . Later he worked as a salesman in the real estate industry.

He later studied sports journalism at the IST University in Düsseldorf, where he also obtained his sports and fitness diploma.

During his studies he began to work as a freelancer for the NRW local radio stations Radio Leverkusen and Antenne AC . During his third radio engagement with Radio38 in Braunschweig, he presented for the first time as a football league reporter . After Pick ended his active time as a judoka (including Bundesliga ) at the age of 26, he is the team manager of the judo NRW league Remscheider TV. In 2014, Pick also replaced Kurt Hanusch as the stadium announcer for the former second division soccer club FC Remscheid and worked there for two years.

Also in 2014, Cedric Pick was the test monial of the TV commercial for Manybuy AG, which was broadcast from February to May 2014 on the channels Sat1 , Sat1 Gold , ProSieben , Kabel1 and Sixx . Pick then moderated together with Mola Adebisi for the Internet broadcaster Manybuy until May 2015 .

RTL asked Pick as a candidate for the program The Bachelor of the Year 2016. Pick declined, however, as he said he would rather concentrate on his career as a moderator. Other sources reported that he did not attend the show because he was already in a relationship.

After another two years as a radio presenter ( Radio38 , Antenne AC , Radio Leverkusen ), Pick has been hosting third division football games for the TV station Magenta Sport since July 2017 . He also comments on the Werkself radio for Bayer 04 Leverkusen and moderates the Werkself podcast .

During the 2018 World Cup in Russia , Cedric Pick analyzed important games and teams in the tournament for focus.de .

Since 2020, he and Thorsten Legat have had the football podcast Legat & Pick - Die Spieltags-Stammtischer .
