Central Delaware Valley AVA (recognized since March 19, 1984) is a wine-growing region in the US state of New Jersey and in southeastern Pennsylvania . The Protected Designation of Origin is north of Philadelphia near the Delaware River . To the south, the area borders the municipality of Titusville , a few kilometers from Trenton . In the north, the American Viticultural Area is bounded by the Musconetcong Mountain .
Due to the cool climate in certain areas of the American Viticultural Area, there is a relatively high proportion of French hybrid vines such as Chambourcin, Seyval Blanc, etc.
