Wolf Steininger

Wolf Steininger (born April 13, 1907 in Amberg ; † January 29, 1999 in Amberg) was a German CSU politician .

Life

Steininger first studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1927 he became active in the Corps Palatia Munich . As an inactive , he moved to the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, where he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD.

From 1958 to 1970 he was Lord Mayor of Amberg . He was previously a legal advisor and from 1952 to 1958 Mayor of Amberg. He was a member of the district assembly of the Upper Palatinate and the Bavarian Senate . He participated in the Second World War as an officer in the Wehrmacht .

During his tenure as Lord Mayor of the city of Amberg, the construction of the apartments in the new district "D-Programm" (demonstrative construction program), the new construction of the indoor swimming pool, the new construction of the Kurfürstenbrücke, the new construction of the Barbaraschule, the new construction of the federal apartments on Raigeringer Strasse , the new housing estate on Terrassenweg, the new housing estate on the Raigeringer Höhe, the development of the city moat with the promenade and the connection to the federal motorway 6 with the "motorway feeder" road.

Afterlife

The city of Amberg named Dr.-Steininger-Straße near Raigeringer Höhe after the honorary citizen.
