Christian Endemann

Christian Endemann (born January 3, 1885 in Fattigau , Upper Franconia , † May 30, 1950 in Amberg ) was a German SPD politician .

Life

Christian Endemann was a shaper by profession , Nadler. He was a union secretary and from 1908 a member of the SPD. From 1914 to 1918 he participated in the First World War . From 1917 to 1922 Endemann was a member of the USPD and returned to the SPD in 1922. He was a member of the German Metal Workers' Association (DMV) and its managing director in Amberg from 1919 to 1933. From 1924 to 1932 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the SPD . He was a member of the Reich Committee of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold . From 1929 to 1933 he was a city councilor in Amberg.

From 1933 he was in various prisons and in the Dachau and Flossenbürg concentration camps . On May 13, 1945 Christian Endemann was appointed acting Lord Mayor of Amberg by the American military government. The preparation of the first democratic municipal elections after the dictatorship and war in 1946 in the city of Amberg was in his hands. In 1946 he was a member of the Bavarian State Advisory Committee and was elected to the State Constituent Assembly in Bavaria. From June 1946 to June 1948 he was a full-time second mayor in Amberg. From 1948 to 1950 Endemann was again a member of the Amberg city council. From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the SPD . As a delegate of the Bavarian State Parliament, Endemann took part in the first Federal Assembly in 1949 .

The city of Amberg named Endemannstrasse in the Eisbergviertel in his honor.
