Viticulture in New Jersey describes viticulture in the American state of New Jersey . Under United States law, every state and county is a protected designation of origin and does not need to be recognized as such by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives .

First attempts at viticulture can be traced back to the year 1787. The Renault Winery, founded in 1864, is one of the oldest still operating wineries in the United States.

Until 1981, viticulture was only legally possible to a very limited extent. Since the law was relaxed, 19 wineries, most of which are family-run, have been producing around 3.8 million liters of wine annually . With this amount, New Jersey ranks 5th in emissions / state in the United States.

Due to the cool climate, there is a significant proportion of French hybrid vines (e.g. Chambourcin, Chancellor, ...) as well as autochthonous descendants of American wild vines.
