It rises on the municipal boundary of La Rouaudière and Saint-Aignan-sur-Roë , generally drains southwest to west and, after 30 kilometers, flows into the Oudon as a right tributary in the municipality of Châtelais . On its way, the Chéran crosses the departments of Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire .
