The Chaise is a mountain river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the municipality of Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin , initially drains in a south-westerly direction, then curves around the southern foothills of the Chaîne des Aravis , then turns east to south-east and, after 24 kilometers, flows into the southern outskirts of Ugine as a right tributary the Arly . On its way, the chaise crosses the Haute-Savoie and Savoie departments .
